What do you get when a menswear collection featuring very volumous and monochrome garments wins the 2015 H&M Design Award? Exactly this!

From October 22nd (this Thursday) the Ximon Lee collection for H&M will be available in (selected) H&M stores, and there’s a few reasons why we’ll be camping in front of those big glass doors the night of october 21st.

First of all, not only is this the first winning menswear collection to win the award, it quickly turned into a unisex collection which makes it H&M's first ever unisex collection - that’s two firsts in one collection. Ximon Lee is a graduate from Parsons School of Design, and boy did he make us happy by winning this award.

The 8-piece Ximon Lee collection is a very volumous collection with a monochrome color palette. Going from a slim pair of trousers to an oversized fitted sweater, the collection has it all. The garments are made out of high quality rough looking complex bonded fabrics and have an overall undergroud/urban citylife feel to them.  To create an oversized silhouette, Ximon used a layer of foam that sits between two layers of denim in both a heavy twill denim jacket and a pair of wide shorts. The collection also includes a printed cotton top and a pair of structured denim trousers with chunky zips, embroidered with blue metallic thread. Jersey leggings have a denim feel, while an all-over print on a jacquard knit creates the effect of huge ribbing.

Because we know very well that pictures say more than words, check out the pictures below to discover this unisex collection that was crafted so beautifully by the genious hands of Ximon Lee and the H&M designers team. If ever you guys plan on camping outside of the H&M store on the 21st of october, come say hi! We'll have hot chocolate!

It’s September, and in the world of fashion that only means one thing: Fashion Weeks.

While Paris, London, New York and various other cities our hosting their fashion weeks, we Belgians had our little “fashion show” moment too. A few days ago the Cohort collective presented us their newest collections. Co-what? COHORT.

Cohort is a collective of 6 Belgian labels who came together to promote Belgian fashion creation. At their first show at the WIELS museum in Brussels, the 6 designers – Giuseppe Virgone, Diane van Overheem, Florence Coenraets, Pierre-Antoine Vettorello, Mansour Badjoko and Megan Scott Manolova - presented us their collections for the coming Spring/Summer season. The Cohort collective was kind enough to invite us to their show, and we couldn't help but to fall in love with one designer in particular: Giuseppe Virgone.

If you ask Giuseppe Virgone what men will wear in the summer of 2016 the answer would be black and white, some basic dark colors and last but not least some pearl-embroidered hand accessoiries to put some shine in the look.

A collection is never better explained than by the designer himself, so we sat down with Virgone and asked him the following questions.

What does your collection represent?
EXTINGUISHE ME is an invitation to the extinction of the human beauty and the misteries of ‘the end’. For this project, the collection evokes the mortal fate of mankind and of misunderstanding of some wrongful acts. This work tries to deliver the essential, to eliminate all harmful feelings that might offend our thoughts, redefine beauty, desire and all sense of touch. It does nothing to destroy thought, but makes it stronger. It's a  collection that talks about the conflict between cultures and mankind.

Who or what inspired you in the making of this collection?

I was inspired by the flags that tear, all these conflicts between religions, cultures and policies.

What makes your designs unique? What elements of design makes people say “that’s a Giuseppe Virgone!” about one of your pieces?

A dissected work, grated which reveals the masculine silhouette. Material mixture and black.

Of course we have the whole collection on photograph. Take a look at how you’ll see me strolling around Brussels the coming summer.

As you guys can probably tell by the look of my Instagram I took a week off blogging and spent some time in the lovely city of Venice in Italy. While one of the many shopping sprees out there I found myself wandering around the Louis Vuitton store. I was just looking around, not planning on buying anything, until my eyes fell on the Brazza Wallet. In just one second I knew this baby was going home with me, and so it did.

The wallet is made of Epi Leather and contains 12 credit card slots, and ID or business cards slot, a zipper compartment for coins and 4 flat compartments for bills or tickets. The inside/lining is made of Mat Cross grain leather.
